Think Different !!!

Its one of those usual Sunday Morning when you wake up late than usual , pick up your morning tea and catch up some news on cnn and movies on hbo.

This time it was a movie I catched up in the middle and ended up seeing the whole . This obviously mean I liked it . And when such a things happens , I google it to find out more about the movie .

The Movie was 'Always' - a 1989 romantic comedy-drama directed by Steven Spielberg, and starring Richard Dreyfuss, Holly Hunter and John Goodman.

I have seen Richard Dreyfuss and Holly Hunter in an earlier movie in such an earlier stunt of catching a movie in the middle on HBO.

For his portrayal of a struggling actor in The Goodbye Girl, he won an Oscar , at age 30,becoming the youngest actor to win a Best Actor Award . This record has since been surpassed by Adrien Brody , when he won an Oscar at 29 for his role in Pianist.

This time I ended up finding more about the movie, becuase of a catchy and romantic number in the movie , 'Smoke Gets in your eyes' .

"Smoke Gets In Your Eyes" is a song written by American composer Jerome Kern and lyricist Otto Harbach for their 1933 Broadway musical Roberta.
It has been covered by numerous artists, possibly the most famous of which was recorded in 1959 by the doo wop group The Platters, which became a number one hit on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes" is the title of the 2007 pilot episode of the AMC original drama Mad Men.

It still doesn't make sense till now why i name this Blog as 'Think Different' ....

Think Different is an advertising Slogan created for Apple Computer ( Now Apple Inc. ) in 1997 . The Script goes like this .........

Here’s to the crazy ones.
The misfits.The rebels.The troublemakers.
The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently.
They’re not fond of rules.
And they have no respect for the status quo.
You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them.
About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them.
Because they change things.
They push the human race forward.
And while some see them as the crazy ones,We see genius.
Because the people who are crazy enough to thinkthey can change the world,Are the ones who do.

There are so many things I like about these Lines ...

Thomas J. Watson coined the motto Think while managing the sales and advertising departments at the National Cash Register Company, saying "Thought has been the father of every advance since time began. 'I didn't think' has cost the world millions of dollars." In 1914 he brought the motto with him to CTR , which later became IBM .

The one-minute commercial featured black and white video footage of significant historical people of the past, including (in order) Albert Einstein, Bob Dylan, Martin Luther King, Jr., Richard Branson, John Lennon, R. Buckminster Fuller, Thomas Edison, Muhammad Ali, Ted Turner, Maria Callas, Mahatma Gandhi, Amelia Earhart, Alfred Hitchcock, Martha Graham, Jim Henson (with Kermit the Frog), Frank Lloyd Wright and Pablo Picasso. The commercial ends with an image of a young girl, Shaan Sahota opening her closed eyes, as if to see the possibilities before her.

The Voice for the Ad Campaign Video was recorded by .... Yes ... Richard Dreyfuss . The Voice ( and the Ad ) which I always like since the days I first got it back in 2004, is no other than Richard Dreyfuss ... the guy whom I saw as a fine actor today morning over my Tea.
